• Pick the Orientation that matches your camera angle:
  • Face-On — camera in front of you, lens facing your chest at address
  • Down-the-Line — camera behind you on the target line, looking along the line your ball will travel
• Record one swing per video — for long clips, use the in-app Trim tool to keep just your swing
• Keep the camera steady while recording (tripod or braced phone — camera shake throws off the measurements)
• Set the correct handedness, club, and camera angle on the "Review your clip" screen before analyzing
• Good lighting improves pose detection accuracy
• Slow-motion videos are supported and automatically downsampled

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did the app fail to detect my swing?

Make sure your full body is visible in the frame, the in-app Orientation matches your camera angle (Face-On or Down-the-Line), and there is only one swing in the video. For long clips, tap "Trim first" after importing to cut the video down to just your swing. If automatic detection still misses, you can set the eight swing positions by hand with "Mark Events Myself".

Does the app work with left-handed golfers?

Yes — set the handedness toggle to "Left" on the "Review your clip" screen (shown after you record or import a video) before analyzing.

Does the app upload my videos anywhere?

No. Your swing videos are analyzed entirely on your device and are never uploaded or shared. The app does collect anonymous usage analytics (never your videos, and not linked to you) to help us improve it — see our Privacy Policy.

Which camera angle works best?

Both work well — Swing4Eagle fully supports Face-On and Down-the-Line, each with its own set of checks. Pick the Orientation that matches how you filmed: Face-On (camera in front, facing your chest at address) or Down-the-Line (camera behind you on the target line).
